Dr Kenneth Loon
Dr Kenneth Loon is a highly skilled and experienced Colorectal & General Surgeon with a passion for delivering exceptional care to his patients. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons who completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland before moving on to Advanced General Surgical Training at the Princess Alexandra and Mater Hospitals.
Following his training, Dr Loon completed advanced sub-specialist Fellowships in Colorectal Surgery at prestigious hospitals in Melbourne, including the Alfred and Cabrini Hospitals, and the Austin Hospital. He also completed a Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at Westmead Hospital in Sydney, further honing his expertise in this specialised area.
Currently practicing on the Gold Coast, Dr Loon is highly regarded in his field, with particular expertise in laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery, pelvic floor disorders, benign colorectal disease, and colorectal cancer. He is an active member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Besides his clinical work, Dr Loon is deeply committed to medical education and training. He holds positions as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, Griffith University, and the METC Institute, where he is involved in educating and training future generations of surgeons. Dr Loon is also a published author and has won numerous accolades for his clinical research, including the General Surgeons Group’s Best Clinical Research Prize and a Travelling Fellowship Grant for studies at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
